Objectives
Objective 1 - To emphasize and empower community level health care in every village within its area of service.

• Train, equip, and empower Hayden Hall’s 35 existing regional paramedics through yearly refresher courses. (First session completed in April 2010. Second scheduled for September 2011.)
• To work in conjunction with HIMSERVE, a local NGO, to support and mentor 12 trained birth attendants, and to assist them in training 12 additional birth attendants for each of the isolated communities of Buxa Duar and Lungsheol. (Training of Buxa Duar candidates began July 2011.)
• Identify candidates to serve as new community level health workers in previously uncovered villages, and to conduct comprehensive 6-month trainings in conjunction with Navjeevan Hospital, Gayaganga. (Training of initial six candidates began July 1st 2011 and will end December, 2011.)
• Provide the necessary equipment and materials for each paramedic, community health worker, and trained birth attendant to do their job properly.
Objective 2 -To obtain a clear picture of the region, its demographics, mortality rates, disease loads, and to continuously educate the public on important health issues and disease prevention through the community health workers. (An ongoing project begun in May 2010.)

Objective 3 -To link the region to existing secondary level care via the Emergency Care and Transport Ambulance and the Dayasagar Hospital Shuttle. (Initiated November 2010 and January 2011 respectively.)
Objective 4 -To ensure that every mother in the region of service has access to antenatal care, postpartum care, and the materials necessary for a safe and hygienic birth through the following options:
•Option 1: The provision of a basic birth kit in case of an unattended, emergency delivery at home.
•Option 2: A home-birth assisted by a trained and equipped community health worker or trained birth attendant.
•Option 3: An institutional delivery overseen by a midwife/health care professional at the Mother-Child Health Center in Sailung Bazaar, Kaffer. (Since January 2011.)
•Option 4: Free emergency medical transport through the government-sponsored maternal health program, Matri Yan, to and from a hospital with surgical facilities. (Initiated July, 1st 2011.)
Objective 5 -To create weekly access points for primary level care throughout the entire region via the Daysagar Mobile Clinic.
Objective 6 -To improve the standard of care provided by the government Primary Health Centers and subcenters through cooperation with posted doctors and nurses and the shared use of essential equipment.
